Amateur vs Pro Division
To maintain fair competition and ensure that all athletes compete at the appropriate level, we have specific guidelines for eligibility in the Senior (Amateur) class versus the Pro Division.
Amateur Division is for athletes who are still developing their skills and have not reached advanced levels of competition. Pro Division, on the other hand, is designed for experienced athletes with significant achievements or experience in competitive armwrestling.
Criteria for Pro Division Eligibility
If you meet any of the following criteria, you are not eligible to compete in the Senior (Amateur) class and must compete in the Pro Division:
You have competed in a past Nationals Pro class.
You have won a previous Nationals in the Amateur class, starting from 2023.
You have won a local tournament in the Senior Amateur or Pro class.
You have competed and achieved a podium finish in an overseas tournament (in any class).
You have competed in any Pro event, including supermatches or tournaments.
Juniors and Masters Competitors
If you are a Junior or Masters competitor and meet any of the above criteria, you can still compete in your respective age categories. However, if you choose to compete in the Seniors class, you will be required to join the Pro Division.
SGAW Membership Requirements and Benefits
To participate in the Singapore National Armwrestling Championships 2024, all pullers must be registered members of SGAW. The membership fee is $30, and without an active membership, athletes will not be eligible to compete, nor will they be recognised or ranked by SGAW/WAF for any events.

For other SGAW events:
Eligibility to compete at SGAW-sanctioned events.

Potential selection to represent Singapore in international competitions.
Potential selection for referee course (Local and Overseas).
Discounted coaching from Valen Low.
Discounted appearance fee rates for Valen Low.
Invitation to SGAW’s Annual General Meeting with voting rights.
Additionally, any puller who wins their category at the Nationals will receive free membership for the following year, ensuring continued participation and recognition in future events
Ticket Options
We are pleased to offer four distinct ticket options to accommodate the needs of all athletes:
Junior (Sub-Juniors/Juniors/Youths) / Female Both Arms: $35
Pro/Senior/Master Both Arms: $50
Junior (Sub-Juniors/Juniors/Youths) / Female Single Arm: $25
Pro/Senior/Master Single Arm: $30
Multiple Entries
- Athletes are not allowed to join multiple weight categories in any age classes.
- Sub-junior 15 athletes cannot register in Junior 18 and Youth 21 classes.
- Junior 18 athletes cannot register in Youth 21 classes.
- Only Junior 18, Youth 21, and Master athletes can register in Seniors class.
- Amateur Division athletes can join both the Amateur Division and the Pro Division.
- Pro Division athletes cannot join the Amateur Division.
- Pro Division athletes are any athlete ranked State-level or higher
- Amateur Division athletes are any athlete ranked Novice-level and below
Fees for entries into multiple categories will be charged according to the fee stated above.

Example of Ticket Purchase
Let’s use Athlete A as an example. Athlete A is a youth under 21 years old, weighing 69 kg, and wishes to compete in the following categories and arms:
Youth u70kg and u75kg: Competing in both left and right arms.
Senior u70kg: Competing in the right arm only.
For this participation, Athlete A will need to purchase:
Two tickets in "Junior/Female Both Arms - $40" for Youth u70kg and u75kg, both arms. This totals $80.
One ticket in "Pro/Senior/Master Single Arm - $30" for the Senior u70kg, right arm only.
The total cost for Athlete A would be $110.

Dress Code
- Athletes may choose to wear the National Championship 2024 T-shirts or their Club Jersey.
- Athletes are required to wear long pants.
- Athletes are required to wear covered shoes.
Shorts, bermudas, slippers, sandals, crocs, and heels are strictly not allowed.
